Dr Danilo de Oliveira Silva is a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at the La Trobe Sport and Exercise Medicine Research Centre (LASEM), La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia. His research focuses on biopsychosocial characteristics of people with knee disorders across the lifespan.
Danilo is a Physiotherapist and has worked in teaching and research at universities in Brazil and Australia. Danilo's PhD thesis was awarded the best PhD thesis of Brazil (CAPES-2020), the most prestigious award from the Ministry of Education in Brazil. Despite being an early career researcher, he has more than 60 peer-reviewed publications and served as Associate Editor of the Journal of Sport Rehabilitation and BMC – Sport, Science & Rehabilitation.
Danilo is passionate about translating research evidence into practice and sharing research findings with the community. Currently, he is the Development Director of the TREK initiative (Translating Research Evidence Knowledge) and has produced several infographics, animated videos and websites.
